WHAT WE DO

PRAYER GROUP

Craigie & Moncreiffe Prayer Group has existed for several years. It meets on a regular basis in the Prayer Room at Moncreiffe Church to pray together for various situations and individuals. From this has developed a Prayer Chain, dealing with emergency situations.

The group also organises occasional retreat days, which are open to others.

In all of this, we try to obey Jesus's command to preach the Gospel and heal the sick.

SAFEGUARDING AT CRAIGIE & MONCREIFFE CHURCH

Safeguarding is about preventing harm and abuse, and making a timely and appropriate response if it occurs. Harm and abuse of children and adults at risk can happen anywhere – even in church communities. We have a duty to ensure a safe church for all.

At Perth: Craigie & Moncreiffe Church of Scotland we uphold these principles. We have a safeguarding coordinator and a safeguarding panel. All paid staff and volunteers who work with children and/or vulnerable adults have PVG clearance. As with all organisations, rules change over time; however, we always strive to keep in line with current legislation. To that end, we have begun to roll out training sessions for workers with children and vulnerable adults.

EDUCATION & MISSION WORKING GROUP

We organise Bible studies, meeting weekly in Craigie Church Hall, Wednesdays 10 a.m. till 11 a.m. This is a great opportunity for fellowship and nurturing deepening faith by journeying together as we explore God's word.

We have formed a children's work team for children's outreach events.

We actively support Matthew, our youth leader, in any way we can.

Messy Church is church for families/folks who might want to meet Jesus, belong to their local church and bring up  their children as Christians, but can’t cope with Sunday morning church services. It’s a once a month time of creativity, worship and eating together”.

Messy Meetings last for 2 hours. They begin with a Bible-based story, followed by related craft activities, a time of worship and the sharing of food.

Everyone is invited – young and old alike, adults, children, teenagers, grandparents, friends, families or partners, or come on your own. Entrance is free.

If you are under 12, you need to bring someone over 16 with you.

We also support Perth and Kinross Foodbank, Traidcraft, Feed the Minds, the Leprosy Mission and Christian Aid.

PUBLICITY & COMMUNICATIONS

The Publicity & Communication working group is responsible for everything from the church magazine and posters to the website and social media presence. We welcome ideas for other ways to make the church known in the community and spread God's word.

PROJECT WORKING GROUP

The aim of the Projects Working Group is to bring people together in fellowship, as well as fundraising, and in this respect there are many ways to do this including teas after services, coffee club, soup & rolls, craft group or intergenerational work with the school children, teaching them to knit and sew.   The Men’s Group and Ladies’ Group meet from time to time for various meals.   Concerts and other fundraising events also take place on a regular basis.
